Immunizations

I got my final two immunization shots today. Because I put off taking care of this until the end of the quarter, I was on the accelerated schedule.

06.04
Travel Consultation $25.00
06.11
Hep A $35.00 (1 of 2)
Hep B $35.00 (1 of 3)
Rabies $105.00 (1 of 3)
Tetanus $17.00 (1 of 1)
06.18
Hep A $35.00 (2 of 2)
Hep B $35.00 (2 of 3)
Rabies $105.00 (2 of 3)
07.02
Hep B $35.00 (3 of 3)
Rabies $105.00 (3 of 3)

TOTAL : $532

Still have to pick up my prescriptions for Malarone (malaria), Cipro (dysentary), and the oral typhoid vaccine at the pharmacy. Nurse recommended mosquito repellant, too. The immunizations will end up costing as much as my plane ticket.

They would have cost even more had I got the immunization for Japanese Encephalitis, which is another 3 shots at almost $90 a pop. But I talked to Mike and he didn't seem to think it was that urgent. The travel nurse didn't urge it either.

I notice now that I didn't get the G6PD Deficiency gene test, another $20. I still have the laboratory request. I forget what fatal reaction it was supposed to screen against, but I am still alive, so apparently I am not G6PD deficient.
